Trails & Strolls

Access to year-round trails is abundant in Pictou, Nova Scotia, offering a variety of well-maintained paths for all ages, abilities, and interests. For a more challenging hike, try Fitzpatrick Mountain. If a leisurely stroll is more your style, the Jitney Trail offers a blend of history and beautiful harbour views.

Fitzpatrick Mountain Trail

A 11.9-km moderately challenging loop near Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. This trail is great for hiking and mountain biking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.

Jitney Trail

Walkers and cyclists can enjoy a three-kilometre trail to the site where the ship Hector made its historic landing in 1773.  The Jitney Trail connects to the Trans Canada Trail System for more avid hikers.

Shortline Trail

From Brown's Point to Scotsburn, this 12.7 km recreational trail is made of compacted surface suitable for cycling, walking, running, snowmobiling, skiing and ATVs.
